Online Game Voice Services Provider Vivox Gets $7.8 Million

Framingham, Mass. - Vivox, a provider of integrated voice services for online games and virtual worlds, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $7.8 million in a second round of venture capital financing, led by Benchmark Capital.

Previous investors Canaan Partners and GrandBanks Capital also participated.

Massachusetts-based Vivox provides in-game and in-world voice services to online game and virtual world providers including IBM, Linden Lab, Wizards of the Coast, The Electric Sheep Company and K2 Network.

The company will use the funds for product development, sales support and marketing.
