Authored by Mark Hefflinger on November 13, 2007 - 12:00pm.

San Francisco - Gydget, the developer of a marketing platform that helps organizations -- such as music groups and sports teams -- reach their audiences on social networking and fan-based websites, said on Tuesday that it has raised an undisclosed amount in its first round of funding, led by SunBridge Partners.

Angel investors also participated.

The company said that it will use the proceeds to accelerate the development of its platform, as well as to expand its employee base and infrastructure.

San Francisco-based Gydget has developed viral fan widgets, used by promoters and bands to share event dates, box-office and merchandise links, news, videos and other information directly with fans.
