San Diego - DivX (NASD: DIVX), a developer of video compression technology, announced on Tuesday that Sony Computer Entertainment will integrate its technology into the PlayStation 3 video game console. The move will allow PlayStation 3 users to view DivX-encoded content through the PS3, and also enable game developers to utilize the technology. The DivX software will be added to new consoles, as well as made available to current PS3 owners through a separate system software update.
