On-Demand HD Content Firm On Networks Raises $12 Million

San Francisco - On Networks, a producer and distributor of original, on-demand HD programming, announce on Wednesday that it has raised $12 million in its second round of funding, led by Accel Partners.

Previous investors Austin Ventures and AT&T (NYSE: T) also participated.

Austin-based On Networks distributes on-demand, HD programming from producers around the world that use its virtual studio technology, and currently offers more than 400 episodes of 25 original shows like "Stump the Chef" and "BackPack Picnic."

On Networks programming is distributed across Internet, digital cable, IPTV and various mobile and gaming devices.

The company will use the funds to further develop its virtual studio technology, as well as to develop new programming and secure partnerships with distribution networks and platforms.
