Video Anti-Piracy Firm Vobile Gets Funding From AT&T, Steamboat

Santa Clara, Calif. - Vobile, a developer of video anti-piracy technology, has received an investment pegged at below $10 million from AT&T (NYSE: T) and Disney's (NYSE: DIS) Steamboat Ventures, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The company also recently announced investments from Facebook CFO Gideon Yu; former Liberty Digital CEO Jarl Mohn; Vernon Altman, of Bain & Co.; former Fox TV chairman Brian Mulligan; Nicholas Moore and David Wargo.

Founded in 2005, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Vobile has developed VideoDNA, a content identification and management technology that can track video and associated audio on the Internet.

AT&T is currently testing Vobile's technology, The Journal reports.
