Sydney, Australia - Tilefile, an Australia-based online social network, announced on Thursday that it has received an equity investment from Motorola Ventures.

Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Tilefile wraps videos, photos and audio into a single, content-neutral format called a "Tile," which can be joined with other Tiles to form combinations that can be shared both on Tilefile and other sites.

"Rather than navigating through Internet pages, users have a non-linear view of multiple 'social media packages' suitable for both phone and Web," the company said.
