Atlanta - BeRecruited.com, a networking site for high school athletes seeking recruitment from college coaches, announced on Monday that it has closed a "significant" first round of financing, led by Madison Parker Capital.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2000 by Duke University swimmer Ryan Spoon, Atlanta-based beRecruited allows student athletes to create profiles containing verified athletic and academic information.

The service currently counts 135,000 registered users, including 125,000 student athletes from 18 sports, nearly 8,000 college coaches and over 3,000 high school coaches.

The company, which recently hired former ESPN senior executive Jeff Cravens as its president, will use the funds for continued growth and to capitalize on new business opportunities.
