German Court Grants iPhone Injunction Over T-Mobile Exclusive

Frankfurt, Germany - A local court in Hamburg, Germany has sided with Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) and issued a preliminary injunction on the sale of Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone, over objections to the company's exclusive distribution deal with rival mobile network T-Mobile, Reuters reported.

T-Mobile told Reuters on Tuesday it will announce a response to the injunction on Wednesday, with a spokesperson adding, "The legal basis for the injunction is currently being examined."

Vodafone, which lost out on exclusive iPhone deals with Apple in the U.K., France and Germany, said it does not plan to lodge similar complaints in other regions.

"We're not taking any plans to replicate these actions anywhere else, or in the UK," a Vodafone spokesman told The Wall Street Journal. "It's a different regulatory environment. We believe it's more to do with a breach of local German laws."
