King of Prussia, Penn. - Red Lasso, a stealth-mode start-up developing an online video distribution service for broadcasters, has raised $6.5 million in funding, from investors including Anthem Capital, Osage Ventures, the Guggenheim Opportunity Fund and Pat Croce, former president of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, VideoNuze reported.

The company will allow broadcasters to post long-form video and audio, which users can then search through and access, as well as embed on various sites.

The technology is being targeted at both broadcasters, independent websites of groups like sports teams looking to feature their own video, and bloggers seeking to embed video.

Red Lasso's service is currently in the private beta phase, and offering 150 broadcast feeds from around the country.
