Redbox Installs 6,000th Automated DVD Rental Kiosk

Oakbrook, Ill. - Redbox, a provider of automated DVD rental kiosks, announced on Monday that it has installed its 6,000th kiosk, which the company said puts it in front of Blockbuster in number of rental locations nationwide. The company, which is owned by Coinstar, McDonald's Ventures and private investors, operates kiosks that hold 500 DVDs that cost $1 per night that are located in McDonald's restaurants, grocery stores and other locations.
