Reality TV seems to be doing anything it can to shed the first word in its name. TMZ reports that a source inside ABC’s Dancing With the Stars says Marie Osmond’s recent fainting spell – which she attributed to the poor air quality following October’s southern California fires – was scripted.  Another popular reality show, MTV’s The Hills, has come under heat recently for being scripted, something its centerpiece, Lauren Conrad, vehemently denied.

Apparently Osmond’s rep denies the claim, telling TMZ, "There is no writer on set feeding her lines.  Her manager is there and we (her publicists) are there but no one is feeding her lines."  She even seemed to support the idea that the wildfires somehow contributed to Osmond fainting, saying the rumor it is was fake is "ridiculous. Why would anyone fake fainting on a live TV show? That show happened during the wildfires and Marie has allergies, there was smoke in the air which was extremely toxic. The trailers for the show are outside the stage and she was breathing the air. It's happened before."
