Chevy Chase to Rejoin ‘Saturday Night Live’ as a Regular

Fox News reported today that Chevy Chase will rejoin the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.  Chase made a less-than-stellar guest appearance on the Weekend Update segment earlier this year.  "I met with Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers and they hired me," Chase told Fox’s Roger Friedman. "I told them I’d love to come in and do occasional pieces about politics. They’re paying me scale, which is more than I was making when I did the show originally," he joked.

As for his analysis of the guest appearance this season, Chase sniped the writers, saying, "The writing wasn’t so good.”

If there’s one thing a writer likes, it’s constructive criticism in a public forum.  Don’t expect anything phenomenal written for Chase once (and if) the strike ends and SNL resumes.

c chase on snl

good luck to them. he is one of the most difficult people around to work with and likes to suck up all the air in the room. He sniped at the writing- how surprising, how come he didn't improve his script if it was sub-par? What will happen if the critics don't like what he does next- whose fault will that be? and btw- no i am not a writer WGA or otherwise.
