San Mateo, Calif. - Mobile games publisher Glu Mobile (NASD: GLUU) announced on Thursday that it will acquire Beijing-based mobile game developer and publisher MIG, for $14.7 million.

Additional payments of up to $25 million in cash in stock are contingent upon MIG achieving certain financial milestones in 2008.

MIG creates mobile games that are culturally relevant for the Chinese market.

MIG's 80 employees will join Glu, while MIG CEO Wang Bin will become Glu's general manager for China.

"We believe MIG is the leading developer and publisher of mobile games in China," said Glu president and CEO Greg Ballard.

"The acquisition allows us to strengthen our presence in the region and supports our goal to be the world's leading global publisher of mobile games."
