Social Recommendation Service MyStrands Raises $24 million

Corvallis, Ore. - MyStrands, the developer of a social recommendation engine that provides real-time recommendations of products and services to Internet and mobile device users, announced that it has raised $24 million in new funding, led by Spanish bank BBVA.

Previous investor Debaeque also participated.

The company previously raised $25 million in June, in a round led by Grupo Zeta CEO Antonio Asensio.

Oregon-based MyStrands currently offers personalized recommendations on music, and builds custom playlists for music discovery.

The company says that its services have already resulted in sales of $12 million during 2007.

MyStrands will use the new funds for product development.
