Los Angeles - Vivid Entertainment Group, a large producer of adult films, announced on Tuesday that it has sued adult video-sharing site PornoTube.com and its parent company Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network (AEBN) for copyright infringement, for posting or allowing the posting of Vivid content on the site.

Los Angeles-based Vivid also alleges unfair business practices, arguing that AEBN is not complying with certain provisions of the federal Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act, which require proof of age of performers, as well as "misappropriation of the actors' right of publicity" under California law.

"Vivid spends enormous sums to copyright its content and to comply with the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act age verification process. PornoTube and AEBN have been getting away with a practice that unlawfully earns it millions of dollars at our expense," said Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch.

Vivid is seeking a permanent injunction against AEBN's posting of its content, and damages of at least $4.5 million.
