MTV Networks Forms Digital Fusion Marketing Division

New York - Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) MTV Networks announced on Wednesday the creation of Digital Fusion, a new division that will develop digital advertising and marketing that incorporates original and customized creative content across the company's digital portfolio.

The unit will be headed by Jason Witt, who was named SVP and general manager of Digital Fusion, and will report to Nada Stirratt, EVP of digital advertising at MTV Networks.

Digital Fusion will both make creative uses of existing inventory, and create original interactive campaigns that include video content, online games, microsites and widgets.

MTV's stable of websites attracted 90 million unique users globally in October, according to comStore Media Metrix.

The company has also recently begun rolling out its Flux social media platform, and announced plans to develop two dozen targeted websites, as well as invest more than $500 million over the next two years in its video game business.
