Baseball's ‘Mitchell Report’ Tops Google’s Hot Trends List

Authored by Scott Goldberg on December 13, 2007 - 6:50am.

With the official list of names on baseball’s infamous “Mitchell Report” revealed today, a quick glance at Google’s Hot Trends list shows that today’s search term du jour is, indeed, “Mitchell Report.” Early reports indicated names like Yankees pitchers Roger Clemens and Andy Pettit, St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols, and Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, and the Boone and Giambi brothers on the report.

The search for Mitchell Report information has outpaced searches for “Golden Globes Nominations,” which were announced earlier today.

What do you have to say about the hoopla surrounding the Mitchell Report? Are you surprised by some of the early names like Clemens? Who else will be on the list that we might not have expected?

UPDATE: After the official report was released, Jason Varitek's name was not on the list, nor was Albert Pujols.

Varitek!

I knew he was a juicer! Look at the guy. I can't wait to see who else from the Red Sox is on the list. I'm no Yankees fan, but the Red Sox are the new Yankees, and Boston is the new New York, and I'm just glad to see that the heart and soul of their team will be implicated!

First, remove the foot from mouth, then...

For the love of god, no one has been tried in front of a jury. You CAN'T just start throwing out accusations out there. As was the case, Vtek was NOT on the list, and by the same token, you can't assume now, that he's clean either. This report was more of a gauge of how messed up the MLBs are, not how messed up some individuals are. And screw you dude, Boston isn't a "New" New York, if anything, it's way older than NY. And our sports teams are doing well, that has no implication on how business handle their affairs here, or if we're opening up a United Nations. God I can't believe I actually formed an argument against this idiot, I feel his opinions hold as much water as a pasta strainer. Read the report, better yet, just read a book or newspaper, get educated a little better, and stop throwing out accusations that mean nothing.

Read the report if you can.

Read the report if you can. It's over 400 pages though, with your moronic comments that could be a problem for you. Varitek was not listed, and Boston is still the same old Boston and far from nasty New York.

Easy slugger - turns out

Easy slugger - turns out Varitek is not on the list. Must have been a Yankee fan that leaked the inaccurate list prior to the release of the real report.

ALBERT!!!!

who the heck leaked that coment honestly unless you know for shure kepp quiet all that leads to is quistions for him and of cours he will deny it and then every one will start making him the new Barry Bonds. tejada now theres a jucier for you.
