Report: Orb to Support Remote Media Streaming to iPhone

Authored by Mark Hefflinger on December 13, 2007 - 12:31pm.

London - Orb Networks is set to announce that its remote PC media access application will support Apple's (NASD: AAPL) iPhone and iPod Touch, The Register reports. Orb's place-shifting software gives users streaming access to the music playlists, songs, photos, videos and TV content stored on their PCs; for the Apple devices, streams will be delivered as MP4 files. The Orb application will also purportedly allow iPhone users to send a link to streaming versions of songs stored on their computers to friends via a link during an SMS chat session.
