Rockville, Md. - More than 1.3 million video game consoles were bought and sold on eBay in 2006, to the tune of $330 million, according to a report from market research firm Packaged Facts.

The data represents only sellers with U.S. postal addresses, but includes sales to buyers worldwide.

"No longer can marketers and manufacturers afford to ignore the impact the eBay sales have on the traditional retail marketplace," the report states.

The report is based on eBay's Annual Overview 2006 data, which found over 220 million registered users transacting more than $50 billion.
