E3 2008 Set for July 15-17 at Los Angeles Convention Center

Washington - The Entertainment Software Association (ESA), a U.S. video game industry trade group, announced on Tuesday that it has scheduled the 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit for July 15-17. Next year will figure as the second year of the significantly downsized version of E3, a change that came after game publishers saw costs associated with the previously massive event skyrocket.

However, while this year's E3 was held at various smaller venues in Santa Monica, next year will see the event's return to the more spacious Los Angeles Convention Center downtown.

"Our program of high-level meetings, networking and personal dialogue, and industry-shaping panel discussions will capture the explosive growth we have seen in 2007 and lay the foundation for the 2008 video game marketplace," said ESA chief executive Michael D. Gallagher.

Good Call To Go Back To A Larger E3

WTF were they thinking in the first place of shrinking and separating E3!? Those bogus sons of mothers! It's a good situation this year in 2008 for them to go back to the large, single venue where it's all at! Look for Sony to complete and utterly dominate this event with HUGE titles being released later this year and early next year! A few games I cannot tell you about just yet... Look for PC gaming to really make a huge jump this year, too! Intel, nVidia, ATI, and AMD will all make huge announcements pertaining to hardware that will knock the shoes and socks off the sexy girl next door (only because I want that to happen, anyway!). Of course the ho-hum companies Microsoft and Nintendo will be there showing off what they may. But, let's be honest, this is the year of Sony and the PC!

SONY!!

go sony

Well...

I can't wait to here for the announcements. Maybe PS3's price will drop to under 400... in 5 years. -_-

CAN THE PUBLIC ENTER

Can the public actually attend this year? as in "not press". If so do we have to buy tickets and where do we buy them?

I've been to E3 in 99 and

I've been to E3 in 99 and 2001........and I still want to attend but I can't unless I'm invited......this should be changed back to the way it was. E3 used to be tight. Booth babes and all.....it was like the Boston song More Than A Feeling. Now what's up with it.....I'm not feelin it anymore! Because I'm not there anymore! Change this please!
