New York - Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) MTV Games division announced on Wednesday a partnership to develop original video games with movie and TV producer Jerry Bruckheimer ("Top Gun," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "CSI"). As part of the deal, Bruckheimer will build a game incubation studio with MTV Games, which will develop, distribute and market titles, and pursue potential opportunities for migration to other media like film and TV.

"Video games represent a new and innovative medium for what we've always tried to do, which is to tell great stories. But this medium is unique in that it gives the player control over how those stories unfold," said Bruckheimer.

MTV Networks said that Jeff Yapp, EVP of programming enterprises and Bob Picunko, VP of electronic games and interactive products, will oversee the relationship for MTV Games.

In August, MTV Networks announced it would invest more than $500 million over the next two years on video games and interactive entertainment.
