Blue Sky Factory Acquires Blogarithm

Baltimore - Blue Sky Factory, a provider of e-mail marketing services, said that it has acquired the technology platform and subscriber base of Blogarithm, the developer of a free service that alerts subscribers through a daily e-mail when new content is posted to blogs, websites and other RSS-syndicated services.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Philadelphia-based Blogarithm said that it currently monitors over 70,000 unique RSS feeds on behalf of its 35,000 subscribers.

Baltimore-based Blue Sky said that it plans to operate Blogarithm as an autonomous service, and expects to enhance it with new features over the next few months.

Plans also are in the works for premium versions of the service.

The deal followed Blue Sky's earlier acquisition of RSSFWD, an application that sends users e-mail when blogs, podcasts and syndicated RSS feeds are updated.
