London - BetNow, a U.K.-based developer of mobile gambling services, has raised an undisclosed sum in its first round of venture capital, led by Balderton Capital, PEHub.com reported.

Founded in 2005, BetNow's service will let users send text messages containing their bets, which are charged to their phone bills; winnings may then be collected at U.K. Post Offices.

The company will use the investment to launch its service in the U.K., and to accelerate product development.
