Active.com is the leading web destination focused exclusively on participatory sports and activities.  Our mission is to encourage and enable participation and the Active.com directory is our core asset supporting this mission.  The Directory Operations Manager is responsible for executing the strategies set forth to ensure that Active.com presents the most comprehensive and relevant directory of things to do on the web.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that the Active.com directory is powered by the deepest, most accurate and timely database of things to do within the markets we serve
• Managing a team of researchers and content aggregators responsible for increasing  the depth, breadth, completeness and accuracy of the Active.com directory
• Working with multiple teams across the company to ensure that available assets are mined from internal applications and presented within the Active.com directory
• Developing project plans and communicating goals and objectives to staff members at all levels of the organization
• Reporting on stated goals relevant to content collection and data accuracy

Experience

• A track record managing a team of researchers, producers or developers
• Database management experience a minimum requirement
• Familiarity with building and maintaining web-based directories a plus
• A history of reporting against key performance indicators and stated goals
• Experience working at an online consumer media property a plus

• Must be extremely detail oriented and process-driven
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Must be a self-motivated hard worker and a great team player
