Singapore - Motorola (NYSE: MOT) announced on Monday that it will acquire Soundbuzz, a provider of online and mobile music services in Asia. Financial terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in the first quarter, were not disclosed.

Singapore-based Soundbuzz operates its own digital music store with a library of over 750,000 tracks, and also operates white label services or provides content and technology to partners including Hutchison 3, SingTel, Telstra and Motorola.

Motorola, whose MotoMusic mobile music service is already available in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, said its acquisition of Soundbuzz will enable it to expand MotoMusic into India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

The company added that it will maintain Soundbuzz's Singapore headquarters.
