PR Service Marketwire Acquires International Media Services

Toronto - Marketwire, a press release distribution and monitoring service provider, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired Miami-based International Media Services (IMS), which offers similar services in Asia and Latin America.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Toronto, Canada-based Marketwire said the deal supports its international expansion plans; the company now counts 17 offices on four continents.

IMS founder Hector Botero will join Marketwire as vice president of emerging markets.
