Freepath Gets $1.5 Million for Digital Content Sharing Tools

Folsom, Calif. - Freepath, a developer of digital content sharing tools and communities, announced on Monday that it has raised $1.5 million in its first round of funding, led by Velocity Venture Capital.

Individual members of Strategis Early Ventures, Sacramento Angels and the Sierra Angels also participated.

Founded in 2007, Folsom, Calif.-based Freepath is developing digital content sharing tools for the business, education and consumer markets.

"Freepath is going to change how people show and share the content they create and the digital assets they collect," said John Stone, a former Apple vice president who is now Freepath's CEO.

The company will use the funds to launch its product, add senior management and expand business development efforts.
