Purchase, N.Y. - Pepsi (NYSE: PEP) and online retailer Amazon.com (NASD: AMZN) on Monday confirmed plans for their $1 billion giveaway, which includes redeemable points on four billion Pepsi products that consumers can spend on MP3 downloads, as well as Amazon Unbox TV downloads, electronics, apparel, DVDs and CDs. The promotion will be unveiled in advertising during the Super Bowl broadcast, and commence on Feb. 1.

Amazon MP3 now offers over 3.25 million songs from more than 270,000 artists, from both all four major labels and 33,000 independents.

"We're offering up to $1 billion in prizes, making this the largest promotion we've ever done," said Cie Nicholson, SVP and chief marketing officer for Pepsi-Cola North America.
