San Francisco - Following eight years in business, including the past four turning a profit, San Francisco-based Granicus, a provider of government webcasting and public meeting management software and services, said that it has raised $10 million in its first round of funding from JMI Equity.

The company said that it will use the proceeds to significantly expand its sales, marketing, product development and customer support operations.

Granicus currently serves nearly 400 government clients, landing 165 new clients last year.

The company streams more than 85,000 public meetings and other government content each month.
