Sunnyvale, Calif. - GoldSpot Media, a developer of mobile ad insertion for mobile broadcast TV, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $3 million in its first round of funding, led by Exa Ventures.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based GoldSpot says its miSpot mobile ad insertion platform adapts the inventory-sharing business model of cable operations and broadcast affiliates for the mobile TV medium.

The company conducted technical trials of its technology in the U.S. and Europe last summer.

"This funding allows us to execute on the company vision to make mobile broadcast a profitable business case for the entire value-chain," said Srini Dharmaji, GoldSpot Media's president and CEO.

"GoldSpot Media is uniquely positioned to influence the future of mobile broadcast TV by offering the potential for an entirely new advertising revenue model."
