San Mateo, Calif. - Smaato, a provider of mobile advertising technology, has raised $3.5 million in its first round of venture capital financing, from angel investors including Aeris Capital CEO Uwe Feuersenger.

Silicon Valley law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati advised on the funding, and also participated with an investment.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Smaato's technology delivers ads across mobile operating systems including JAVA, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Palm OS, as well as on mobile Web pages.

The company has partnered with ad sales networks such as Adconion Media Group and AOL-owned Advertising.com's Third Screen Media.
