MySpace Fixes Bug That Allowed Access to "Private" Photos

San Francisco - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace online social network has quietly fixed a glitch on its website that allowed users to access the photos on some profiles that users had deemed "private," Wired.com reports.

The company reportedly closed the backdoor less than 24 hours after a story disclosing the bug was published by Wired.com.

That story described Internet message boards where users would post private pictures from the MySpace profiles of 14 and 15 year-olds, and several ad-supported websites that offered an automated process to exploit the bug -- which had been available since at least October.

The websites that offered such services are no longer delivering private photos, Wired.com reported.
