MixerCast Raises $6 Million for Media-Sharing Service

San Mateo, Calif. - MixerCast, a provider of social media marketing tools and services, announced on Wednesday that it has closed a $6 million second round of funding, led by Intel Capital.

ONSET Ventures, and previous investor Velocity Interactive Group also participated.

San Mateo, Calif.-based MixerCast's service allows users to add images, audio and video to a Web-based slide show, and add updates to their slide shows via RSS feeds.

"The additional funding will provide us expanded capacity to extend the capabilities of our platform and support our customers and partners which include Entertainment Tonight/Paramount and CBS among others," said MixerCast co-founder and CEO Jennifer Cooper.

The company previously raised $2.6 million in December 2005.
