San Francisco - Imeem, a social network focused on music that claims over 20 million unique monthly visitors, announced on Monday that it has acquired Anywhere.FM, a Web music player and Internet radio service.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

San Francisco-based Anywhere.FM was launched in 2007 with funding from Y Combinator, and allows users to upload their music and play it from anywhere, as well as discover new music through friends.

Imeem said the deal will bring music uploading capabilities, recommendation features and a rich Web music player to its service.
