Digital 3D Cinema Company Real D Raises $20 Million

Los Angeles - Real D, a provider of digital cinema 3D projection systems, has raised $20 million in its fourth round of venture capital financing, led by Pequot Capital, PEHub.com reported.

Los Angeles-based Real D counted over 1,100 screens that have installed its digital 3D projection systems, as of November 2007.

Recent films that have been screened in the Real D format include the live concert film "U2 3D" and "Beowulf."

The company previously raised $50 million last year from the Shamrock Capital Growth Fund.
