Los Angeles - CBS's (NYSE: CBS) Showtime Networks pay-TV unit announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Internet TV distributor Brightcove, on an eco-friendly plan to offer Primetime Emmy Awards voters the option to watch full seasons of its original series online, instead of receiving the usual bulky DVD mailings.

The network said it is the first to offer entire seasons to Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) members via the Internet.

Members will receive a unique passcode that will allow them to view full seasons of Showtime series online, including "Weeds," "Dexter" and "The L Word."

"This year's Primetime Emmy campaign initiative was driven by a goal to create a new and unique way for voters to view Showtime's eligible programming anywhere in the U.S," said Richard Licata, EVP of corporate communications for Showtime.

"This will eliminate the enormous amount of packaging which has inundated members and ultimately ends up in our landfills."
