Edmonton, Canada - Nexopia, a Canada-based, youth-oriented social network with over 1.2 million registered members, announced on Monday that it has received an investment of "several million dollars" from Burda Digital Ventures.

The company was founded in 2003 by then-18 year-old Timo Ewalds.

Nexopia also said it named Boris Wertz as its new CEO; Wertz was previously chief operating officer at AbeBooks.com, and is affiliated with Burda Digital Ventures.

The funding from Burda will provide Nexopia with more resources to execute new product development and expand its reach across Canada and the United States.
