Santa Monica,
Calif. - News. Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace
online social network on Tuesday introduced its anticipated Developer Platform,
which will allow developers to create applications that run within the social
network, a la the popular platform on rival Facebook. While developers were
given access to the platform today, end users will not be able to test drive
the new applications developed for MySpace until next month. "We are
committed to lowering the barrier to entry for developers around the world to
build a more collaborative and dynamic Internet, while empowering our members
to take control of their online presence in new and exciting ways," said
MySpace co-founder and CEO Chris DeWolfe.
