Los Angeles -WooMe, an online speed dating service, has raised a $3 million bridge round of financing led by Mangrove Capital.

Previous investors Atomico, Klaus Hommels and Oliver Jung also participated.

Los Angeles-based WooMe debuted its service at the TechCrunch40 conference in November 2007.

The company said it has so far facilitated over 250,000 introductions in 20 countries, and that its service can enable users to meet five people in five minutes.

"With this funding we can focus our efforts on improving the user experience, releasing key functionalities to our live introductions platform, and expanding our international presence where we are enjoying early success," said WooMe founder and CEO Stephen Stokols.

Woo Me looks interesting,

Woo Me looks interesting, like speeddating.com, but I’m sure they both will have similar problems like, most people do not have webcams yet and the ideal users of this site will probably old souls desperate to find love which is creepy. Both sites need features that allow users to block unwanted ‘dates’ from seeing their profiles.
