Toronto - JumpTV, an online broadcaster of sports and international TV programming, announced on Thursday a strategic realignment towards its sports and Hispanic broadcast content, while looking to sell off its content delivery network and content based outside of Latin America.

The company said it hired Oppenheimer & Co. as its financial advisor in connection with the potential sale of the business units.

Toronto-based JumpTV was founded as a subscription-based Web TV service that syndicated international TV channels for expatriates.

The company is now touting the fact that it streamed more than 5,500 sporting events in the last quarter, including BCS Bowl Games and other NCAA tournaments, as well as its 80 partnerships with Hispanic TV stations.

"Going forward, JumpTV will be keenly focused on executing against a vertical sports strategy where we provide the most popular sports content available to an incredibly targeted, passionate and loyal audience," said JumpTV CEO Jordan Banks.

"We plan on coupling this with a horizontal strategy of providing online access to the broadest Hispanic television content in the world."
