Reports: Vid-sharing Site Revver Acquired by LiveUniverse

Authored by Mark Hefflinger on February 15, 2008 - 7:28am.

Los Angeles - Confirming earlier rumors, video-sharing site Revver has been acquired by LiveUniverse, a company launched by former MySpace parent company Intermix Media's founder Brad Greenspan, according to reports from NewTeeVee and CNET News.com. While terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, News.com reported earlier this month that the struggling Revver -- which had seen the departure of all of its founders, and its staff cut in half -- was asking for only $300,000 to $500,000, plus the assumption of about $1 million in debt.

Revver was one of the first video-sharing sites to tout the fact that it shared ad revenue with video creators.

The Los Angeles-based company has raised a total of around $13 million in venture capital.

BLAME THE LAWYERS FOR FAILURE OF REVVER: HERTZ GOLDRING ETC

That is right, Revver was a good idea. But it was handled in quite a disastrous style by a pair of lawyers Ken Hertz and Fred Goldring I think their names are. I used to work there, and these guys tried to be 'creative' and 'marketers' for the web, but ..like the same lawyer folks who killed the music biz...they don't have that skill set ! They alienated everyone, and now have to sell it at firesale for nothing, at great loss to investors. What kind of smart busniess sense is that? Not very good mssrs Goldring and Hertz ! Those guys are not very smart, and too bad for Revver and Steven Starr, if only he had better judgement finding legal partners than those bunch of clowns..ya know.
