Seattle - Blist, the provider of an online social database service, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $6.5 million in its first round of venture capital financing, from Frazier Technology Ventures and Morgenthaler Ventures.

Seattle-based Blist's service allows average users to create online databases to share data such as wedding guest lists, fantasy football statistics or sales contacts.

The company said it has received thousands of beta test requests since launching its service at DEMO 08 last month.

Blist will use the funds to accelerate development and marketing of its service.
