McLean, Va. - Mixx, a provider of social news aggregation services, has raised $2 million in its second round of financing from previous investor Intersouth Partners, VentureBeat reported.

Launched in October 2007, Virginia-based Mixx allows users to vote on news stories they think are relevant to friends, colleagues and people who share common interests, with a model similar to existing services such as Digg and Reddit.

The company's partners include Reuters and the Los Angeles Times, the latter of which also took a small equity stake in Mixx in December.
