San Francisco
- Radar Networks, a developer of semantic Web technology, announced on Monday
that it has raised a $13 million second round of venture capital, led by
Velocity Interactive Group.
Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and previous investor
Vulcan Capital also participated.
San Francisco-based Radar Networks said it
will use the funds to roll out and scale its first semantic Web application,
Twine, which has been in beta testing since November.
The company describes
Twine as a "service that helps users organize, share and discover
information about their interests, with networks of like-minded people.
"Powered
by semantic understanding, Twine automatically organizes information, learns
about users' interests and makes connections and recommendations."
