Baltimore - TidalTV, the developer of a broadband TV platform that will feature professionally produced, branded programming, announced on Tuesday that it has secured $15 million in its first round of venture capital, led by New Enterprise Associates and Valhalla Partners.

Baltimore-based TidalTV says it will offer consumers free access to its online video programming via a streaming, browser-based platform.

The company's seed financing was provided by Advertising.com co-founder Scott Ferber, who also serves as chairman of TidalTV; fellow Advertising.com alum Mollie Spilman serves as CEO of TidalTV.

The company will use the new funds for further product development, and to enhance its available programming.
