San Francisco - Crunchyroll, a video-sharing site that features anime content, has raised $4.05 million in its first round of funding, led by Venrock, PEHub.com reported, citing a regulatory filing.

San Francisco-based CrunchyRoll is a community site where users share anime videos -- most of them copyrighted -- and post to forums on other topics like games, music and cars.

TechCrunch reports that the company's three founders work out of the offices of social media site HotOrHot, and wish to remain anonymous.
