Casual Games Developer Three Rings Gets $3.5 Million

San Francisco - Casual games developer Three Rings has raised $3.5 million in new funding, led by True Ventures, VentureBeat reported.

Chance Technologies, and previous backers Amicus Capital, Mercury Capital Partners and angel investors also participated.

San Francisco-based Three Rings has developed casual games including "Puzzle Pirates" and "Bang Howdy," and generated $4 million in revenue last year from subscriptions and microtransactions.

The company is currently in development on "Whirled," a more virtual world-type game with social media elements.
