San Mateo, Calif. - Mobile games publisher Glu Mobile announced on Friday that its bid for U.K.-based fellow publisher Superscape has received acceptances representing 81% of the company's shares.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Glu initially made its offer of about $36 million in January.

The company said it will apply to have Superscape's shares delisted from the London Stock Exchange.

Glu will also seek approval of 100% of the company's shares, and expects to grow closer to that goal over the next few weeks, either through additional acceptances of the offer or through open market purchases.

The company said that if it reaches 90%, it will acquire compulsorily all remaining Superscape shares on the same terms as the offer.
