Austin, Texas - Unicorn Media on Friday launched a beta version of its planned free entertainment site, which aims to offer professionally-produced digital video content from filmmakers, videographers and production companies from all over the world. The company says its focus is on video quality, and will launch HD streaming later this year. "We're not building a system to provide intermittent humorous distractions in peoples daily lives," said A.J. McGowan, CTO at Unicorn Media. "We're building the system people will use for all their digital entertainment." The Tempe, Ariz.-based company says it will pay artists as much as 50 percent of the advertising gross receipts earned from their specific content.
