- RiverWired, an online social network and content community that focuses on
green, eco- and environmentally-friendly lifestyle topics, said on Monday that
it has raised $1.5 million in a round of seed-stage funding from unnamed
investors.
New York-based RiverWired, currently in beta, produces eco-friendly
lifestyle Web and video content that is hosted on its own site and distributed
on third-party sites like YouTube, Dailymotion and Yahoo.
The company plans to
make money on advertising and sponsorships from companies specifically
targeting "green" audiences.
